6 weeks to walking
This is an amazing time in your child’s life. Every day brings a new gift – a smile, a new word, a new tooth. At Rainbow Academy, we attend to your infant’s every need and we listen carefully to you – the parent – so that your needs are met as well. We maintain a stimulating environment in the infant room, but there’s also quiet time and nap time. The schedule is determined by your child, not by us. Since an infant’s day is “on demand”, there’s no such thing as a typical day. This will give you an idea of what your very young infant might experience.
Our curriculum addresses an infant’s growth and development by creating strong bonds and learning through play. Understanding how young children learn is essential to providing an environment which supports an infant’s development.
“I thought, ‘Curriculum for an infant? You’ve got to be kidding.’ Then I learned how important it is for babies to have the stimulation and little exercises they need at different stages of development. I’m always learning how to be a better parent at Rainbow Academy.”
Knowledge of infants’ developmental milestones is critical, so that activities can be geared to help your child meet them. View a sample of activities your child may experience in a given week. Since every infant is on a slightly different timetable, the personal, one-on-one attention available to this age group is particularly important.
As the parent of an infant, you’ll want to closely follow your child’s progress and know what’s happening in your little one’s day. So we provide you with detailed information in our Daily Report - from naps to burps to circle time. You’ll even know about what’s planned for your infant’s week before it happens with Rainbow Academy’s Peek-of-the-Week.
The infant room at Rainbow Academy is big and bright and cheery, with cribs on one end and a carpeted area for play and exploration at the other. To see more, take our virtual tour.
Some moms enroll their infants at Rainbow Academy before they’re born! With waiting lists at some locations, it’s not a bad idea. To secure your infant’s name on the waiting list, (even if your infant has yet to be named!) Enroll now.
